Bedding

Our bedding products are made in India and in Portugal.

Our bedding products are Oeko-Tex certified, the standard in safety and environmental protection.

Thread count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch, and is indication of breathability, not of softness or quality. The higher the thread count, the closer the weave of the threads, the less airflow. Cotton sateen typically has a higher thread count than cotton percale, which is why sleeping in sateen feels cozier and warmer, while in percale cooler. The smooth and silky feel of the fabric is a result of the finishing process, rather than thread count.

Percale is created with a close, simple weave of one thread over and one thread under – the most breathable of the cotton weaves with a crisp and cool hand feel. Sateen is woven more densely, resulting in a soft, silky and cozy feel.

Wash in hot water (ideally at 60 degrees Celsius) with mild detergent. Tumble dry on low.

For our white bedding (not Waves), non-chlorine bleach can be used sparingly and only when absolutely necessary as the use of bleach will deteriorate the cotton fibers more quickly.

Do not use any fabric softeners.

We recommend washing linens with like colors separately from other items to prevent any zippers, metal buttons, rough surfaces, or other hard objects from causing tears or pilling.

To recreate the smooth and lustrous look of luxury hotel beds, remove the bedding from the dryer before completely dry, iron, then lay flat to dry. If already dry, try using a spray bottle of clean water to dampen the fabric as you iron – the light spritz of water helps relax the cotton and the iron to press out wrinkles.

When not in use, fold and store your bedding in a breathable linen bag, like the 100% cotton H drawstring bag, in a cool and dry place. Make sure the linens are clean and completely dry before storing.

Discoloration happens naturally due to constant contact with skin, body sweats and oils, as well as lotions, makeup or other topical treatments. Frequent washing and keeping three sets of bedding to use on rotation (one in use, one in the laundry, and one in the closet) can help slow down the rate of discoloration.
